Lilly sighed and drifted off to sleep. She often used her dreams to show her how to fix problems in her life. However, the subconscious can only explain problems from the real world through images and sounds it gathers, like a nonverbal psychologist. It is only the brief moments between the conscious state and sleep state that one can speak with their subconscious.

The clock on the wall droned on, almost creating a beat for the rain’s melody. What a weird clock. It was really just another piece of art Lilly had “Frankensteined” together, taking a perfectly normal clock and painting over the numbers.
The rain fell, and the clock kept ticking.
