Shaman Take Kitty

Story behind this piece......
A little stray kitty randomly hopped in my car one day before I was heading to the eye doctor. I was late, and the cat seemed sweet, so I took my chances and brought the random stray cat with me. She was so chill in the car, happy to be warm, and when i was done at the Dr she greeted me happily. I bought her some food and went home, she jumped out of the car and disappeared.

A couple days later, she started coming over to my house. She was the sweetest thing. She followed me everywhere, regardless if i fed her- she would leave her food dish to hang out with me. As the nights became colder, I couldnt bare to leave her out, but i wasnt allowed to have cats in my rented house. I snuck her in, and she slept in my bed every night. I decided to take her to the vet, and try to find her a good home. She was well deserved of that.....
......but when I took her in, i found out she had Feline Leukemia virus. The vet told me to put her down. She already had eye infections and a cough, so I knew.....
I cried every night. She would look at me, wide eyed and happy. One night i sat on the floor with her, and tears would not stop running down my face. She watched one tear, then popped it with her nose, then looked at me. I will never forget that.
About a week later, she quit eating, and I knew she wasn't going to eat anymore. i wasn't going to watch her suffer, so I had her put to sleep.
I could only feel that the experience was Divinely guided, but why? why did I have to be the one? Why did I have to kill my new best friend?
